Established in the 12th century, Dudley Market is situated on a wide part of the High Street, and is a major shopping area for the town. It has undergone numerous developments in its history, including pedestrianisation in 1982, and the removal of 12th-century cobblestone paving.
Present & Future
Tudor Markets has taken over the previous Management since July 2017 and the aim for Dudley Market is to be a place where the all community can gather and enjoy some shopping.
Since July a lot of empty stalls have been filled and we are looking forward to bringing Dudley Market to its former glory as we see the amazing potential and the positive impact the Market has on the community.
Dudley Market welcomes new traders and customers and you can currently find a permanent fruit and vegetable stall that sells fresh produce at great prices, you will also be able to enjoy an e-cigarette and vapes stall as well as browse around other pitches selling socks, accessories, gadgets books and more!
On our relaunch event ‘The Big Day Out’ which took place on Saturday 02/09/17, our aim was to create a fun day for everyone to enjoy, giving back to the local families and residents.
Black Country Radio was there all along providing music and entertainment on stage as well as special guest of the day XFactor singer Wagner, born in Dudley, who performed in front of a cheering crowd.
Not only Wagner was present to amuse us all, but also a magician was showcasing his tricks in front of amazed adults and children. Tom Korni too delighted us all with his fabulous guitar and voice and CollectivCr8, local dance and performing arts group captivated the public with their performances.
The relaunch was a great success with all stalls filled, amazing food and atmosphere. Dudley Market is regularly open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm we look forward to seeing you there!
