Here’s a little info about Crouch End:
Originally a hamlet on the old medieval route from London to the north, during the Victorian period crouch end became a prosperous town and expanded greatly. Today, many regard crouch end as the place to live in north London. It’s a smart, bohemian and vibrant with a strongly supported local arts scene and bustling Broadway.
Professional couples enjoy the cafe culture, the warm community spirit and the great arts and boutique shops on the doorstep.
The Broadway with the cafe culture is where everyone meets. Starting from the landmark clock tower (which still chimes on the hour), locals are spoilt for choice with Dunn’s the bakers which is run by a fifth generation baker, an old fashioned greengrocers, Walter Purkis and sons fishmongers and Gail’s, the artisan bakery as recently opened on the site of a former dairy. These more functional shops sit alongside glamorous cafés, organic delis and boutiques, including Scarlet Rage Vintage which as featured in Vogue, All in all this place makes for a great destination for day trip to the Christmas market.
